Ludlow Art Prize

There will be a beautiful exhibition of Australian landscape paintings and sculptures at this historic site.

It is to draw attention to the critically endangered tuart forest and is an initiative of the Ludlow Tuart Forest Restoration Group

I have entered a landscape painting that was inspired by our local Dardanup Conservation Park.

I hope you can come to see the exhibition and look at the historic settlement. The very popular annual Spring in the Forest is on Sunday 8th.

Pemberton Art Prize 20th Annual Spring Exhibition

This year's theme is ‘Time’. It was tricky coming up with an idea that wasn't too cliched. Hopefully my entry addresses the theme and perhaps draws the viewer in for a closer look.

I can't wait to see all the art works up and ready for the big opening on Friday.

Yarramalong Valley's 9x5 Art Prize

This quirky little exhibition in rural NSW is based on the work of our Australian Impressionists. It has been a fun excercise to paint in this format and I have put works in over the last three years. One received a ‘Highly Commended’ which is always encouraging!

The 9 by 5 Impression Exhibition was an art exhibition in Melbourne, Australia. It opened on 17 August 1889 at Buxton's Rooms on Swanston Street and featured 183 works, the majority of which were painted by Charles Conder, Tom Roberts and Arthur Streeton of the Heidelberg School art movement, also known as Australian impressionism. The exhibition's name references the dimensions of most of the paintings—9 by 5 inches (23 cm × 13 cm), the size of the cigar box lids upon which many of the works were painted—as well as the impressionist techniques employed by the artists.
