100 Day Challenge
Back in February 18 I decided to commit to the 100 Day Project. The challenge is to do something creative every day for 100 days and post it on social media. I chose to draw every day in my sketch book.
Wow I didn’t actually realise how long 100 days is! How hard can it be to knock up a sketch every day? Well it was hard to come up with new ideas. It was hard to be brave enough to post even though they weren’t necessarily fabulous. And it was hard to limit my time and not spend too much time messing about with it all.
Well it truly was a challenge but I’m so glad that I did it. I made it to the end and not only do I have a great sense of achievement but I felt that I grew from the experience. I realized that the drawings that I liked the most were the loose and quick ones that came easily and I also think they were the best. Being creative every day is so good for my state of mind. Drawing, painting or doing anything creative is a kind of meditation for me and it gives my overthinking brain some respite.
The unexpected pleasure was the support from my followers. There were beautiful comments and words of encouragement that kept me going. Some even went further and found the posts inspired them to create themselves and some even wanted to buy them!
