June - July 2021

We headed off in the coldest and wettest winter for years! Campervan packed. Farm sitters briefed. Into the eastern and northern wheatbelt and the goldfields of Western Australia

Where we like to be. Tucked away in the forest.

One of the joys of winter travel is finding the beautiful rock pools on the rocky outcrops that are full of tadpoles and fringed with moss. Our first peoples managed and cared for these water holes called gnammas .

“Dryandra Woodlands

FOR SALE

Oils on canvas paper

This little oil is done en plein air, in the field painting while coping with bugs, the heat or the cold. It provides an immediacy and freshness to the paintings.

“Dryandra Woodlands” was painted at our last campsite for this beautiful road trip. These trees are part of some remnant forest which is the home to echidnas, numbats and other native fauna.

Our road trip was a voyage of discovery with constant surprises at every campsite. The Wheatelt and the goldfields of Western Australia have such a surprising variety of stunning salt lakes, rock fomations and surviving vegetation.
